welcomes Hillsborough County's top Law Enforcement Office

Join the Indo-US Chamber of Commerce on May 18, 2016 at 6:30 PM as we welcome Hillsborough County's Top Cop, Sheriff David Gee. Sheriff Gee will give an "arresting" speech on Law Enforcement.

Sheriff David Gee is a lifelong resident of Hillsborough County. He has served the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the community for over thirty-seven years. Throughout his career, he worked in progressive positions of leadership, including homicide investigator, Internal Affairs supervisor, public information officer, chief financial officer and chief deputy until he was elected Sheriff in 2004. As Sheriff of Hillsborough County, David Gee is responsible for managing the tenth largest suburban law enforcement agency in the nation and an annual budget of more than $370 million.

Sheriff Gee holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Tampa. In addition, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, a graduate of the United States Secret Service Dignitary Protection School, and is a law enforcement aviator rated in fixed-wing aircraft and turbine helicopters. Sheriff Gee’s experience, education and training strengthened his belief that law enforcement can only be effective if it provides service and protection based on the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. As a result, he immediately began implementation of a three-year Strategic Operations Plan that reflected his priorities and realignment of Office operations that include core values of integrity, professionalism, service and protection.

Sheriff Gee is the recipient of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award, recipient of the Boys and Girls Clubs Community Hero Award, recipient of two Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Medals of Valor, as well as the recipient of the Tampa/Hillsborough Human Rights Council award. In 2007, he was awarded “Sheriff of the Year” by the National Crisis Intervention Team. In 2015, he was awarded the Liberty Bell Award by the Hillsborough County Bar Association.

The HCI building is located at 5300 W Cypress St, Tampa, FL 33607.
