TAMPA, Fla. (August 24, 2016) The SCORE South West Florida District 408 was presented with the prestigious District of the Year award at SCORE’s National Leadership Conference held in Saint Louis, Missouri, August 8 to 12.

The Tampa Chapter of SCORE is part of the South West Florida SCORE District 408 along with Sarasota, Ft. Myers, Port Charlotte, Naples, Clearwater/St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Tampa and Pasco-Hernando County. All eight chapters in the district led by District Director Ralph Warmack earned Platinum chapter status, the highest level of performance in providing business services to their clients.

Tampa SCORE has 32 volunteers providing education and mentoring services in Hillsborough county. The organization is currently in the process of training new mentors to be able to service new business startups and existing small businesses in Hillsborough County.

Tampa SCORE has provided help for over 600 local small business over the past year with mentoring thru email, face to face, skype and phone support. Nationally, SCORE mentors assisted 53,377 new businesses in 2015.

SCORE is a national volunteer organization of 11,000 experienced businessmen and businesswomen in 320 chapters organized in 40 Districts. SCORE provides free mentoring for existing businesses, startups and entrepreneurs. SCORE also provides online business related webinars and in person workshops.
