Encore Tampa Bay is pleased to announce that we are officially kicking off the “Encore Story Project”!  This story project is one of  the most powerful ways to change the narrative about what the second half of life with meaning and purpose could actually look like. The essence of this notion of redefining work and retirement is nothing short of you actually rewriting your story .

 

Encore.org figured this out ten years ago when they started  the annual Purpose Prize and the Encore Story Corps.   They set the stage for this idea by putting a call out to people across the country to tell their story of reinvention and reintegration.

 

The three real benefits for telling your encore story:

1) You can bring to our attention an issue or problem that needs to be attended to.

2) You can inspire others who are hesitant to leave the comfort of their old roles and jobs

3) You can help persuade other business and nonprofit leaders with the incredible value that experienced adults can provide in this second half of life.

• Have you taken on a new role in a nonprofit or social agency ?

• Have you started your own nonprofit or social enterprise?

• Have you taken your skills and experience in a different industry?

The main question – Are you aligned with your purpose?  Are you making a difference where ever you are?  (paid or volunteer)
