Each year at Prestigio Hispano, we take time during a special luncheon to recognize individuals who have shown a genuine interest in moving our communities forward and advancing relationships within our business and civic circles.   This years luncheon was a tremendous success as over 80 individuals attended the socially distanced event and recognized the award recipients.    Thanks to all of our sponsors, member and guests who attended and have supported the chamber in our effort to foster growth and success within our Tampa communities.

October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month   October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and while there are usually scheduled walks several of you participate in, this year, due to COVID, it has been quite different. In light of this, we thought it would be impactful to do something together this year.   We have joined a virtual 26.2 Cancer Awareness challenge. You will have the entire month of October to walk, run, skip, hop or jog your 26.2 miles. Your miles do not have to be done at once. No registration required and you can keep track of your miles on a tracker. Once you have completed the challenge please email your tracker to aishkalugo@tampahispanicchamber.com. At the end of the month, we will do a recognition for your courage and effort at our luncheon. Please take pictures and tag us at #Hispanicchambertampabay

USHCC COVID SURVEY

The United Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and Public Private Strategies are launching a national survey effort to understand the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on America's small business owners.   We invite you to participate in this confidential survey by clicking the link below.    SURVEY

COVID-19 RECOVERY ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES- GRANTS

Hillsborough County helps small businesses through hard times with financial assistance that will not need to be repaid. This is a financial assistance program, not a loan. Therefore, the funds do not need to be paid back. Awarded funds can be spent on any business-related expense, such as employees' wages, mortgage, rent, vendor invoices, utility bills, payroll, and other costs, so long as these expenses are not paid for by insurance or another federal assistance program. Receipt of other local, state, or federal assistance (such as One Tampa or PPP/EIDL relief loan funds) will not impact a business' eligibility for this program. Fixed award amounts are determined by the number of employees for each business: 0 to 2 employees - $10,000 3 to 10 employees - $20,000 11 to 20 employees - $30,000 21 employees and more - $40,000 Applications will be accepted through Dec. 1, 2020, or until funding are exhausted.
