Right now, podcasts and podcast interviews are on the rise. With so many people staying at home craving great information from experts, now is a great time to search out interview opportunities. But be careful not to make this common mistake... giving up when you don't hear back from the host.
Here's what I mean...
If you reach out to a host and don't hear back from them, do NOT assume they don't want to interview you. Assume they may not have received your message. Or, assume they are dealing with so much right now due to changes in business as a result of COVID-19. Or assume they meant to get back to you but were busy with other things.
Recently, I had two people who apparently had reached out to me to be guests on my show, but I never got their message. Thankfully both reached out again...this time via LinkedIn. Both are a perfect fit for my Plant Based Show.
And...both are now on the calendar for an interview. Imagine if they would have given up after one try.
They may have assumed I simply ignored them, when nothing could be further from the truth. I honestly didn't see their initial inquiry.
How often do we create stories based on one little piece of information?
The point being is this; be persistent without being annoying. How do you know the difference? Join me on April 20th where I will answer that question in detail.
The call is perfect for anyone who wants to get on shows and has a few questions. And it's only for those who invest in the Directory of Podcast Shows.
Whether you have a question about getting on shows, or starting a show, on Monday, April 20th at 4 p.m. Pacific, you can ask me any question you want.
