Dear Friend,
About last night…me and Nicole Jackson met at a place and did a thing…we met our sister collaborator in person at her event. I have introduced her in recent weeks. Tyomi is an Authentic Tantra Practitioner and so much more. The practice of tantra at its core is a dismantling and realigning of cellular energy for overall health and well being. As you can see her title implies so much misunderstood alignment between the three of us.
I am at the halfway mark of my Tibb training to become a Holistic Practitioner in the Islamic tradition. Similar to tantra, Tibb is about alignment of the elements within you. Tantra has 5 whilst Tibb has four and it is undeniably a comparable path. Both encourage this alignment and sexual/spiritual health. Yes sexual and spiritual is the same. One is physical and the other eternal.
Replenish Me and living in detached love is about cellular alignment. I desire that in myself, my community, collaboration, life and the world.
On this Sweet Talk Sunday I am expressing my gratitude for my new sisterhood Tyomi and Nicole. Nicole and I attended Exxxotica, Tyomi’s expo on all things sexual and sensual to the elevation of true love and understanding. There were so many couples there. There were also Muslim men who were alone and men who were not Muslim. There was an openness and non-judgement...until I met the eyes of the few Muslim men who were there convicted by my presence in obvious Islamic attire. I knew them by their glare and dismantled their projection with my self-aware smile “yes I am a Muslim woman freely understanding my sexuality”.
It got me to thinking how amazing this event would be if Muslim couples were their bonding freely in their sexuality instead of struggling needlessly in their sexless distorted marriages. Instead of living inauthentically as “chaste” “disciplined” humans who require sex only for procreation. Meanwhile the average adult Muslim male married or not is addicted to porn and projecting his shame onto his wife in all sadistic manners of narcissistic expression.
How I desire to heal THAT shame/guilt/elephant in the room!
As I allow that to percolate within, I thank Tyomi for her hospitality and warm welcome yesterday to me. We look forward to creating great things for the elevation of Black #women not to the exclusion of all other women.
