Everything Kay Clark Uhles knows about writing she learned from her car. On August 12, Kay will talk about how she learned to ignore the “Memoir Schmemoir” voice on road trips, how beginning writers can apply those lessons to their writing, and how she can help experienced writers to navigate their projects through brainstorming, editing, and coaching.
Kay has worked with hundreds of authors and contributors on sharpening the craft of writing. Kay has been called a “rock star” when it comes to brainstorming, creating clear outlines, writing engaging text, and editing. She believes that all people have a story to tell and makes the process easy and fun. “She’ll make you look good.”
Kay is a retired community college administrator and former court reporter, with a Masters in Adult Education, as well as training and experience in Motivational Interviewing—which is probably why she’s been called “not so scary for an editor.” Kay recently published her first solo book, Parts, Pieces & Particulars: A Primer for Single Moms Raising Sons and Single Dads Raising Daughters and is currently working on a novel.
