Plus 4th Friday is BACK

Consulting Insights:

This week’s Consulting Insight is in response to value related questions.

There were a series of questions that tie to providing value (“What is the best way to provide value? Should I send a monthly newsletter? Do I need to send personalized messages with something of value every week? Do I need a lead magnet?” plus more.)
?
and
?
“Are 4th Friday Discussions ever coming back?” (yes, this is a value related question.)

There is no one right or best way to provide value to a connection. How you provide value depends on your Relationship Strategy-how you connect, get to know, and nurture relationships.* It depends on why you are connecting and what is important to the other person-are they a client, an immediate potential new client, a referral partner, a long-term future client, or just someone you want to remain in touch.

I’m trying to provide value during the first quarter of 2022 by answering frequently asked 2021 questions in the weekly Consulting Insight. I'm also bringing back 4th Friday Consulting sessions with a slightly different format (more below.)

In response to ways to provide value here is a list of content suggestions, all of which can provide value. It doesn't matter if you create it (write, speak or provide something unique to you) or curate it (recommend someone else's work. What is important is that whatever you provide must be of value to the other person. The more you can personalize what you provide, the better it is for the other person.

  1. Articles (If you share an article, add your own thoughts to that content.)
  2. Blog sites
  3. Podcasts (If you share a podcast, why should they listen?)
  4. Studies
  5. Surveys
  6. Quizzes and self-evaluations
  7. Benchmarking reports (If you share a report, how does the report tie to their services?)
  8. Industry Publications
  9. Association/Organization Publications
  10. Diagrams
  11. Checklists
  12. Templates
  13. Quick Tips
  14. How to Documents (What would interest them or help them move their agenda forward?)
  15. Helpful Websites
  16. Product Reviews
  17. Books and eBooks
  18. Event and Conference Announcements
  19. Webinars (Free or Paid)
  20. Courses (Free or Paid)
  21. Presentations
  22. Summarizes of events, webinars, and books
  23. Interview with an important person within your industry
  24. Replay of an interview of you
  25. Discussion session (Would 30 minutes of free advice be of Value?)

For more on providing value consider checking out Do You Know How to Remain-in-Touch with YOUR Clients? which includes a discussion on the 80-20 Rule.

Yes, 4th Friday Discussions are back but they have moved to the 1st Friday of the month. The format is different with no topic discussion of the day. The hour is devoted to answering your questions.

?

The sessions are still free and still limited to 15 people.

Come with your questions or better yet, send me your questions by 9 AM ET the day of the session.

If you are interested in attending on February 4th at 11 AM ET, drop me an email-laura@lauraburford.com.

You can't attend on February 4th but you are interested in attending a future Q&A session? Keep your eyes open for additional information on the sessions and mark your calendar for March 4, 2022.

Until next week,

Laura

If you have a question, drop me an email at laura@lauraburford.com or grab time on my calendar to talk.
