Believe in Yourself!

As the United States moves into the Memorial Day weekend and the
unofficial start to summer, this week's insight is simply a
little motivational post. We all periodically need a break from
work. For those of you who are not located in the United States,
I believe the message will resonate with you was well.
No one knows when Memorial Day started in the United States or
even what city is home of the first Memorial Day but everyone
will agree it is a day set aside to honor those who sacrificed
defending our beliefs and our nation.
The United States is not the first or last nation to honor those
who sacrificed for the overall good. In 431 B.C., Athenian
general Pericles delivered a funeral oration praising those
killed in the Peloponnesian War. President Zelensky has certainly
praised the Ukrainian people who have sacrificed as they fight
for their freedom.
But I also believe to win, a person needs a purpose and they need
to believe in the fight. The people in Ukraine believe in their
fight. More than once I've heard a Ukraine civilian comment that
they will not give up.
There is a famous Luke Skywalker and Yoda Star Wars quote that
I'm reminded of every time I hear someone say, "I'll give it a
try."
Luke: I don't. I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you fail.
Luke: All right, I'll give it a try.
Yoda: No. Try not. Do or Do Not. There is No Try.
As we live life, we face choices. We make sacrifices. But to
succeed, a person needs to believe in themselves.
Believe in yourself and don't try. Do.
In your own way, honor those who have sacrificed.
Many of them gave their lives so others could live.
Honor them by succeeding.
By believing in yourself, it is possible to achieve your
potential. Don’t doubt that you can be successful because if you
trust in yourself, you will be successful. As Yoda says,
"No. Try not. Do or Do Not. There is No Try."
Enjoy the upcoming Memorial Day weekend and the beginning of
summer.
