As we prepare for HCCTB next chamber, and the final term of Mrs. Diane Cortes presidency, we wanted to take the opportunity to recognized this amazing women for all her hard and committed work to this chamber and it's community. We look forward with optimism, confidence and pride in all that you have accomplished. Leadership transitions can naturally prompt questions about the future, so we want to be very clear that Diane and Mercedes and the entire Board, remain completely committed to our shared vision for our chamber. Our chamber has never been in better shape, and with our ambitious growth strategy well underway, the time is right for Diane to transition to the next chapter.
?
Please join me in welcoming our new HCCTB president for 2023-25 term Mrs. Mercedes Young to our chamber community. Mercedes is also the CEO and Founder of Vivid Consulting Group women minority owned civil engineering and land surveying company. Born in Panama, but spent most of her life traveling as an Army family- Mercedes has been able to experience different cultures from the 22 countries she has lived in.

Mercedes, currently resides in the Tampa area with her husband Dr. Eric AKA - "Mr Wonderful" as she calls him. Mercedes has two children, a daughter named Zulema and her son Emanuel both dear to her heart. She enjoys spending time serving in the community. Mercedes is very excited to join our Board and looks forward to establishing long lasting relationships with our community and its members.
Diane Cortes, will continue to assist the transition until December 2022 and Mrs. Young will initiate her term commencing January 1, 2023. They have both teamed up in August 2022, to set a clear strategy based on feedback we have gotten from our members. Diane will be transitioning Mercedes into the new role gradually in the next 6 months. There will be a dual operating model in the operations of the chamber until the end of 2022. Together, they will continue to serve our chamber and its members' needs to the fullest. Help me congratulate Mrs. Mercedes Young in this new role and commitment to the entire Tampa Bay community.
