Storytelling engages your audience
and invites them into your KNOW-LIKE-TRUST funnel.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a weekend speaker’s workshop in NYC. One particular afternoon, we spent under the tutelage of a producer from The Moth. If you are not familiar with The Moth, you can find it on NPR, and according to their website, “The Moth shares true stories, told live and without notes. We celebrate the ability of true, personal storytelling to illuminate both the diversity and commonality of human experience.”
Whether I’m preparing for a speech, facilitating a workshop, or writing a blog, this “HAND-Y” Moth Storytelling Outline helps me organize my thoughts.
The fun part is that if I need to stretch my time when speaking, or lengthen my written piece, I simply add in extra fingers . . . another supporting story and point. If I’m short on time or space, I delete a finger!
