Foresight Friday

Following trends that shape our futures

Hello,

This week's Foresight Friday is primarily the announcement of the Design Economics Coalition for the Institute for Economic Evolution.

Memoir Suggestions

Having really enjoyed Melanie's memoir, Incongruent: Travel, Trauma, Transformation, I've decided to dedicate my morning, typically pre-dawn Kindle reading, to memoirs this summer.

I finished samples of The Pilgrimage, by Paulo Coelho, as well as I Am Maria, by Maria Shriver, this week.

I would love your thoughts on which of the two to read fully. They are both good. I was deeply moved by Coelho's The Alchemist during my travel across Europe in 2017. Neither will disappoint, but I'm a slow reader and only dedicating 30-60 minutes a few times a week, so this journey will last a while.

Do you have a preference between the two? Email me and let me know.

Design Economics Digest

As mentioned, for the next few editions of Foresight Friday, you'll see this special "Design Economics Digest" section featuring content from IEE. By summer, these will separate into two distinct newsletters: Foresight Friday, focusing on futures and foresight consulting insights, and the Design Economics Digest, covering innovative economic perspectives that acknowledge change, embrace creativity, and cultivate literacy

Design Economics Digest

Acknowledging Change. Embracing Creativity. Cultivating Literacy.

Design Economics Digest offers thoughtfully curated insights from the evolving landscape of economic thought. We share innovative approaches challenging traditional frameworks, highlighting diverse thinkers and organizations whose work aligns with the three tenets of design economics. Connecting People, Shifting Paradigms

With the Design Economics Podcast now established, I'm thrilled to share our next project, which has been close to my heart–the Design Economics Coalition.

We're bringing together fresh thinkers who believe economic systems should cultivate rather than restrict human potential. Whether you're in academia, the social sector, business, or thought leadership, if you're working to improve how systems work, I'd love to connect.
